Porcelain developments and another interiors show

Happy Monday!

It has been over a month since Home Is In The North graced the halls of Halle St. Peter’s in Ancoats, Manchester, and I am excited to reveal that I will be taking part in the second of it’s kind on Saturday the 15th of November.

Leading up to Home Is In The North I was able to use the kilns of some very lovely people – David Helm who runs The Craft Workshop in Huddersfield and Rebecca May who is one half of May Wild Design – a massive thank you to these two! However… I am hugely excited to say that I now have a kiln all of my own! This is a massive development as it means I am completely in control of my turnaround and it is also obviously much more convenient. My kiln is from Northern Kilns in Lancashire, a family run business who also run Pilling Pottery. They provided me with everything I need to know to begin firing my work, and even advised that we could bake bread or even cook a pizza in it as it cools if we so wished, something my husband Sam was very pleased to hear, after all… it is just a very very (very) hot oven.

Since the show I’ve been developing new ideas for porcelain tableware, creating new textured surfaces and trying my hand at creating some original forms.
